The Importance of Colour

Why choosing the right colours is essential for your brand.

pantone colours for your brand

I recently painted a room in my house the palest shade of blush pink. I call it The Happy Room. Why? Because the colour of the room just makes me happy!

Colour is an important element of life, and we are all deeply influenced by it on an emotional level. From the colours in the sky during a beautiful sunset, to those gorgeous shoes you spotted in a store window.

It affects our mood, sparks memories, and affects our buying decisions.

So what does this mean for your business?

The colours you choose to represent your brand shape the perception people have of your business.

That doesn't mean they have to LOVE your colours, but it does need to create an emotional connection with the clients you want to attract. Your colours must reflecting your brand personality and your value and you MUST use them consistently.

84.7% of consumers cite colour as the primary reason they buy a particular product.

If Coca Cola changed from red to purple, would you recognize the brand? Maybe.

What about if Home Depot changed from Orange to pink? That just wouldn't seem right would it?

Your choice of colour can also have a positive or negative impact on people’s perception of your brand. So that makes choosing the right colour(s) for your brand an important factor in sending the right message to your dream clients.

A key step in our Brand Camp process is determining the personality of your brand - the set of human characteristics associated with a brand.

Think of your brand as a person. How do they dress, speak, act?

Using colour psychology, we help our clients choose the right colours for their brand – right down to the specific shades.

So what do the colours in your branding say to your potential clients?

Does it speak to them or scare them away?

Do they fit your brand personality?

Does it reflect your value (ie. how much you charge)?
